Thus shall it be

Truly, thus it is, “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;… Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (see Luke 17:28-30) Read the story of lot in Genesis 19 when two angels visited Sodom and Lot invited them to stay with him, lot nor the men of the city knew they were angels, and the men of the city wanted “to know them”, intimately.

And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes:only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge:now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great:so that they wearied themselves to find the door. Genesis 19:6-12

Is there any difference today? Do we see men leaving the affection of a woman for a man and likewise women leaving the affection for a man for a woman? “…for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” Romans 1:26-27

The people gave themselves up to sensual indulgence. “This was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw good.” Ezekiel 16:49, 50. Satan is never more successful than when he comes to men in their idle hours. – {EP 98.2}
In Sodom there was mirth, revelry, feasting, and drunkenness. The vilest passions were unrestrained. People openly defied God and His law and delighted in violence. Though they had before them the example of the antediluvian world and knew of their destruction, they followed the same course of wickedness. – {EP 98.3}

Below are some headlines thats has been in the news lately, that shows us how we are repeating and even surpassing the sins of Sodom and the antediluvian world.

Minnesota Just Passed Gay Marriage
In a historic vote early Monday evening, the Minnesota State Senate voted 37-30 to pass same-sex marriage, after the House passed it last week in a 75-59 vote. Minnesota’s statehouse is now the 12th state in the country to join a wave of gay marriage approval, setting the stage for Governor Mark Dayton to sign the law heading into a big summer for the movement nationwide — including the first legal same-sex marriages in the state.

Peace Corps opens up to same-sex couples

The Peace Corps will now start taking applications from same-sex partners who want to serve together overseas.
Peace Corps Deputy Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet said Tuesday opening up to same-sex domestic partners will diversify the pool of applicants for the volunteer force, which serves overseas in a variety of projects, including education, health, economic development, environment and agriculture.

The French Parliament gave final approval to same-sex marriage on Tuesday, making France the fourteenth country in the world to have equal marriage rights nationwide. With a population of sixty-five million, it becomes the most populous country, and arguably the most politically significant, to do so. Christiane Taubira, the justice minister who sponsored the bill, proclaimed it “a generous law, and a law of equality.” Gay weddings could begin in France in June.

Eight other countries in Europe allow gay marriage (the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, and Denmark), as do Canada, Argentina, and South Africa. Earlier this month, two other countries, New Zealand and Uruguay, passed same-sex-marriage legislation. The United Kingdom, too, is actively considering a similar bill, which is supported by the government there and seems headed for passage this year.

In this country, as more states recognize gay unions—and the Supreme Court considers two cases on marriage equality—still others are moving rapidly in that direction. In Rhode Island, a state Senate committee advanced a marriage-equality bill on Tuesday after all five Republicans announced their support. A vote by the full state Senate there is anticipated this week, followed by another in the House, which has already approved a similar bill. If, as predicted, it passes, Rhode Island will become the tenth state to have marriage equality. It would join the rest of the New England states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont).

Paul, through the power of the Holy Spirit, explains what is happening here in the end of time and the repercussions better than I can.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:18-32

Flattery and praise

With all the sad things that are happening in the world today, such as the Boston bombings, the kidnapping of those three young women for ten years, the Holy Spirit is still working on the hearts of men and women to do good deeds.  Such as the neighbor in Cleveland that assisted in rescuing the kidnapped women.  The enemy of souls, the devil, through the media(instantly designating individuals as heros), likes to take these incidents that was done out kindness to destroy souls. Flattery and praise can be detrimental.

We need to shun everything that would encourage pride and self-sufficiency; therefore we should beware of giving or receiving flattery or praise. It is Satan’s work to flatter. He deals in flattery as well as in accusing and condemnation. Thus he seeks to work the ruin of the soul. Those who give praise to men are used by Satan as his agents. Let the workers for Christ direct every word of praise away from themselves. Let self be put out of sight. Christ alone is to be exalted. “Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,” let every eye be directed, and praise from every heart ascend. (Revelation 1:5). – {COL 161.2} – COL 161.2

The Bible tells us that our reward is in heaven (see Matthew 5:12). God in His wisdom tells us in Matthew 6:1-4 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”

The created “heroes” have become victims, let us keep them in our prayers, that they may shun all flattery and praise. In these last days let us pray one for another, because “…the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8)  Let us give thanks and praise to the Lord that these women were found alive, and that  the Spirit of God will continue to impress upon hearts to do what is right, but let us remember, that Jesus says “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
