Happy New Year (2016)

Happy New Year to all, and may “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. ” (Numbers 6:24-26)

We all must have heard “Happy New Year” at least several times already for  the day.  It is a good wonderful greeting as we embark on another year of unknown. God only knows the end from the beginning, “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done…” (Isaiah 46:10)  But the Bible also tells us that, “…He revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7) “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29)  God has revealed many prophecies through His word, and many of those prophecies were fulfilled in 2015.

Then in following in prophetic principles 2016 will be an even more eventful year. The Bible likens the coming of the Lord to a woman that is about to give birth.  As the time draws near, birth pain increases and are more intense and the pains are closer together. (See Rev. 2:12)

We know not the day of the hour, but we know when it is near, even at the door. (see Matthew 24:6 & 33) Some of the major prophecies we have seen fulfill last year is the “legalization of gay marriage in the US” (see Luke 17:28-30 & Genesis 19), strange weather – including drought, flood, cold when it should be hot and hot when it should be cold; tornadoes one day and blizzard the next. (See Luke 21:11).  We have see the surge in the terror group ISIS activities and media attention, this has to do with more than meets the eyes. “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:26-28)

We can mention much more, the escalating crime, instability world wide, political corruption, a very shaky world economy, etc. But as we have entered a new year, which has its troubles that we do not know of, let us “turn our eyes upon Jesus”.  This is the only way that we can make it through the “Perfect Storm” that the world has now find itself in.

There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis. If men would give more heed to the teaching of God’s word, they would find a solution of the problems that perplex them. – {9T 13.3}

…prepare to meet thy God… (Amos 4:12)

Happy New Year – In the Lord

Let us withhold nothing from Him who gave His precious life for us…. Let us all consecrate to God the property He has entrusted to us. Above all, let us give Him ourselves, a freewill offering. – {OHC 7.6}
May the beginning of this year be a time that shall never be forgotten—a time when Christ shall come in among us, and say, “Peace be unto you.” John 20:19. Brethren and sisters, I wish you, one and all, a happy new year. – {OHC 7.7}

As 2014 has come to a close, and we begin a new year, we give God thanks and praise for his mercies towards us. God has seen it fit for you and I to be alive at this time in the closing scenes of earth’s history, we have been given another chance to be part of the team to “finish the work”. What are we going to say to Him, “Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)

2014 has been filled with many prophetic events and if you realize all the events are not happening all over the world at the same time. Ebola for instance, is concentrated in Africa, Chikungunya is concentrated in the Caribbean and South America, the airline crashes has been concentrated in Asia. Just this week another plane crashed close to Indonesia, and previously we had a Malaysian airline disappeared and another shot down over Ukraine . In the book Last Days Events, we are told as we near the end there will be frequent disaster on the lines of travel.

Disasters by rail will become more and more frequent. Confusion, collision, and death without a moment’s warning will occur on the great lines of travel. The end is near, probation is closing. Oh, let us seek God while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near!—Messages to Young People, 89, 90 (1890). – {LDE 24.1}

I read an article this week where it is said that airline accidents were less in 2014, but what went up is death by airline accidents. In other words, the accidents that happened this year were major, in comparison to those of previous years. The accidents are becoming more disastrous.

And we know that there has been a lot of health news this year, such as Chikungunya, and Ebola making the biggest headlines, even though according to an article I read, malaria has been killing more people in Africa than Ebola. Then why is malaria not getting the same or more attention as Ebola? Well the local news anchor where I live ends his newscast by saying, “That’s all the news you need to know”, hidden in plain sight, they are telling us that they are controlling the news that we get. But notwithstanding, God has already told us what will be.

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” -Matthew 24:7

The price of oil has been tumbling and if you are now paying less for gas, praise God, we do need the relief, but use the extra cash wisely, prayerfully. Everything we have should be used at this time to “finish the work”. The question is, what is causing the fall of the price oil? Is there an economic war going on? Some oil producing countries such as Russia, Iran and Venezuela are feeling it harder than others, their economies are reeling. What about cyber war, is there a cyber war between the U.S. and North Korea? How will this all affect us, how will these thing carry over to 2015? Did your bank called you (mine did) canceled your bank card because someone stole your card information along with others and was trying to use your card for a large purchase?

We know that the nations are angry and they really want to fight, but praise God that He is holding the winds of strife, until his servants are sealed. There are tensions and conflicts all over the world, and the US, the new
Roman Empire, (study Revelation 13 carefully and prayerfully), seems to be involved in all of them. Make no mistake Russia is not happy with what is going on in their back yard (Ukraine), neither are they happy with what’s happening with their trading partner Syria. And they are definitely not happy with what the sanctions (do you see the effects of no buy or sell, it’s going to be switched to Christians very soon) and the falling oil prices are doing to their economy. But the Lord is hold back the winds of strife, hold back Russia and the US, from engaging in an all out war, these two nations has weapons, that can kill by the millions.

We shall see troubles on all sides. Thousands of ships will be hurled into the depths of the sea. Navies will go down, and human lives will be sacrificed by millions. {LDE 24.1}

Everything in the world is in an unsettled state. The nations are angry, and great preparations for war are being made. Nation is plotting against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. The great day of God is hasting greatly. But although the nations are mustering their forces for war and bloodshed, the command to the angels is still in force, that they hold the four winds until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads (The Review and Herald, January 28, 1909). – {7BC 968.12}

We have entered a new year where there are a lot of uncertainties. The governments are telling us that the economic crisis is over, things are getting better and better. But those that are living it, you and I know otherwise. The only hope we have is in Jesus Christ, “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” -Psalms 146:3

We end this article with a quote from the book, My Life
Today, By Ellen G. White.

Another year now opens its fair unwritten pages before you. The recording angel stands ready to write. Your course of action will determine what shall be traced by him. You may make your future life good or evil; and this will determine for you whether the year upon which you have just entered will be to you a happy new year. It is in your power to make it such for yourself and for those around you. – {ML 5.2}
Let patience, long-suffering, kindness, and love become a part of your very being; then whatsoever things are pure and lovely and of good report will mature in your experience. – {ML 5.3}
Angels of God are waiting to show you the path of life…. Decide now, at the commencement of the new year, that you will choose the path of righteousness, that you will be earnest and true-hearted, and that life with you shall not prove a mistake. Go forward, guided by the heavenly angels; be courageous; be enterprising; let your light shine; and may the words of inspiration be applicable to you—“I write unto you, young men, because you are strong and have overcome the wicked one.” – {ML 5.4}
If you have … given yourself to Christ, you are a member of the family of God, and everything in the Father’s house is for you. All the treasures of God are open to you, both the world that now is and that which is to come. The ministry of angels, the gift of His Spirit, the labors of His servants—all are for you. The world, with everything in it, is yours so far as it can do you good. Even the enmity of the wicked will prove a blessing, by disciplining you for heaven. If “ye are Christ’s” “all things are yours.” – {ML 5.5}

Happy New Year – 2014

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12. – {OHC 7.1}
Another year of life is now in the past. A new year is opening before us. What will be its record? What will we each inscribe upon its spotless pages? The manner in which we spend each passing day will decide this question…. – {OHC 7.2}
Let us enter upon the new year with our hearts cleansed from the defilement of selfishness and pride. Let us put away every sinful indulgence, and seek to become faithful, diligent learners in the school of Christ. A new year opens its unsullied pages before us. What shall we write upon them? … – {OHC 7.3}
Seek to begin this year with right purposes and pure motives, as beings who are accountable to God. Ever bear in mind that your acts are daily passing into history by the pen of the recording angel. You must meet them again when the Judgment shall sit and the books shall be opened…. – {OHC 7.4}
If we connect with God, the source of peace, and light, and truth, His Spirit will flow through us as a channel, to refresh and bless all around us. This may be the last year of life to us. Shall we not enter upon it with thoughtful consideration? Shall not sincerity, respect, benevolence, mark our deportment toward all? – {OHC 7.5}
Let us withhold nothing from Him who gave His precious life for us…. Let us all consecrate to God the property He has entrusted to us. Above all, let us give Him ourselves, a freewill offering. – {OHC 7.6}
May the beginning of this year be a time that shall never be forgotten—a time when Christ shall come in among us, and say, “Peace be unto you.” John 20:19. Brethren and sisters, I wish you, one and all, a happy new year. – {OHC 7.7}
