Marriage Under Attack

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” {Genesis 1:26-28}

It is obvious that there is a tremendous attack against marriage right now in our country. The US is a world leader and where ever it leads, the world tends to follow. From the passage read above, God created man in His image, in His likeness, He blessed them and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply. God’s image in man is under attack, God is the creator, and He created man and woman, and has given us the ability together to procreate.

“A battle over a federal law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman appears headed for the Supreme Court after an appeals court ruled Thursday that denying benefits to married gay couples is unconstitutional. In a unanimous decision, the three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston said the 1996 law deprives gay couples of the rights and privileges granted to heterosexual couples.” From Foxnews

“God celebrated the first marriage. Thus the institution has for its originator the Creator of the universe. “Marriage is honourable”; it was one of the first gifts of God to man, and it is one of the two institutions that, after the fall, Adam brought with him beyond the gates of Paradise. When the divine principles are recognized and obeyed in this relation, marriage is a blessing; it guards the purity and happiness of the race, it provides for man’s social needs, it elevates the physical, the intellectual, and the moral nature.”{AH 25.4}

“He who gave Eve to Adam as a helpmeet performed His first miracle at a marriage festival. In the festal hall where friends and kindred rejoiced together, Christ began His public ministry. Thus He sanctioned marriage, recognizing it as an institution that He Himself had established…. {AH 26.1}
Christ honored the marriage relation by making it also a symbol of the union between Him and His redeemed ones. He Himself is the Bridegroom; the bride is the church, of which, as His chosen one, He says, “Thou art all fair, My love; there is no spot in thee.”” {AH 26.2}
Marriage was instituted by Christ, it is not something instituted by man, God did not leave it up to us to decide if marriage is between a man and a woman or a man and a man. Marriage is a symbol of the relationship between Christ and His church. This would explain why the devil does not want marriage to remained sanctified. God has blessed marriage, and when it is done according to His will it elevates the human race and our society.
The time has come, the end has come, the next institution that Adam brought beyond the gates of Eden is the Sabbath, this itself is already under subtle attack, but based on prophecy this will only increase. Our society is crumbling, man is choosing his way, rather than God’s way.
Where are we heading?
When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law ofGod will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land, and national apostasy will be followed by national ruin.”—The S.D.A. Bible Commentary 7:977 (1888). {LDE 133.5}

  1. “This would explain why the devil does not want marriage to remained sanctified. ”

    If gay people can get married, your church won’t sanctify your marriage any more?

    That seems silly.

    1. Everything God does, the devil comes up with a counterfeit. The devil will continue trying to counter what God has done, but we know the end of the story, the devil has lost. But he will continue to try, the Bible tells us, “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” -Revelation 12:12 God bless.
